Terms & Conditions — VoiceScribe

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing or using VoiceScribe (the "App"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you use the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for your use of the App and for all content you record, import, generate or share.
You must comply with all applicable laws, including privacy, recording and intellectual-property laws.
You are responsible for securing your device and any connected accounts (Google, Microsoft, Apple).
You must provide accurate information when contacting support or managing your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to:

Record or process audio of others without any consent required by law;
Infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
Create, store or distribute unlawful, harmful, harassing, defamatory or hateful content;
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, its systems or other users' data;
Introduce malware or interfere with the App's operation or security;
Use automated means to scrape, overload or abuse the App or its connected services;
Use AI features to generate content that is illegal or that violates third-party rights.

4. Recording Laws

You are solely responsible for complying with recording and wiretapping laws. Some jurisdictions require the consent of one or all parties before recording a conversation. Before recording any person, ensure you have the consents required by the laws that apply to you. VoiceScribe is a tool and does not provide legal advice.

5. AI Usage

AI features (on-device transcription via WhisperKit and optional cloud AI via the DeepSeek API) are provided to assist you. Output may be inaccurate or incomplete and should be independently verified. You are responsible for how you use AI output. Optional cloud AI transmits only the transcript text you select, only when you choose to use it — see the AI Disclosure and Transparency & Data Sharing pages.

6. Uploaded & Generated Content

You retain ownership of audio, transcripts, notes and other content you create or import ("Your Content"). You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights and consents necessary to use Your Content with the App, including importing YouTube videos, PDFs or documents. You grant VoiceScribe only the limited license needed to provide the features you use. We do not sell Your Content.

7. Intellectual Property

The App and all related software, branding, designs and trademarks are owned by VoiceScribe or its licensors. You may not use our trademarks without permission. Feedback you provide may be used by us without obligation to you.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates third-party services, each governed by its own terms and privacy practices:

WhisperKit — on-device transcription.
DeepSeek API — optional cloud AI features.
Google Calendar API — optional calendar integration.
Microsoft Graph API — optional Outlook integration.
Google AdMob — advertising in the free experience.
Apple StoreKit — purchases and subscriptions.
App Tracking Transparency (ATT) — your tracking choice.

We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

9. Liability Limitations

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VoiceScribe is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. See also the limitations in our Terms of Use.

10. Service Availability

We strive to keep the App and its features available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Cloud AI and calendar features require an internet connection and depend on third-party providers. We may suspend or limit features for maintenance, security or legal reasons.

11. Updates

We may release updates, new features or changes, and may modify or discontinue features over time. We may also update these Terms; material changes take effect when posted, with the "Last updated" date revised. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your principal place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where superseded by the Apple Media Services Terms or mandatory local law. You and VoiceScribe submit to the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
